Business Development Supervisor  – Axxela is a Helios Investment Partners LLP portfolio company, and a designated natural gas shipper on the West African Gas Pipeline (WAGP). Axxela is also the pioneering private sector-led developer of natural gas distribution in Nigeria, delivering at peak 80 million scfd to over 160 industrial and commercial customers via a vast network of gas infrastructure.

Business Development Supervisor
Job Title: Business Development Supervisor

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creates techno-commercially viable Gas & Power solutions and matures into profitable businesses.
  • Facilitates Gas & Power-related ideation and undertakes business development/maturation efforts to convert to a profitable business.
  • Identifies changes in the regulatory, economic, and business environment that may potentially present opportunities for Axxela to exploit or threats to mitigate in the energy sector
  • Actively develops networks with OEMs, service providers, regulators, and other stakeholders and deploys same to gain insights, competitive advantage, and win profitable deals for Axxela
  • Undertakes and manages the development of financial models and analytical frameworks to facilitate opportunity development, strategic planning, and support management decisions
  • Performs other assigned duties as delegated from time to time to assure the achievement of corporate objectives and business plans.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of Second-class Lower Degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, or other relevant disciplines
  • Minimum of 8 years work experience, at least 4 of which must have been in a similar role or Engineering Consulting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Management Consulting, or Corporate Finance within a reputable and structured business environment, preferably in the Power, Oil & Gas or general Energy industry.
  • Cognate experience in gas production, processing, transportation, and marketing areas as well as Power generation and distribution. Experience must include the technical, operational, and commercial aspects of natural gas and power assets including the economic evaluation of such assets plus the related energy transactions. Hands-on exposure to ideation, maturation, and origination of energy deals is a core requirement.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage economic/financial models and other complex analyses in Excel and present results to management for decision-making.
  • Additional relevant qualifications such as CFA, ACCA, and Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
