What types of student jobs are available?
We have a wide variety of jobs from coast to coast, in diverse fields, such as administration, agriculture, communications, enforcement, finance, IT, policy, and many more.
Students work in offices and laboratories, on ships and farms, at historical sites and national parks, among many other locations, in more than 300 cities and towns across Canada.
Who can apply?
You are eligible to apply if you meet the following criteria:
• You are a full-time high school, CEGEP, college or university student
• You are returning to full-time studies in the next academic year
• You meet the minimum age requirement in the province/territory of work
This includes persons with disabilities considered to have full-time status by their academic institution, and participants in adult secondary-level education and retraining programs under the authority of an accredited academic institution.
Students who are in their final year of academic study and who are not intending to return to full-time studies are eligible to work part-time up until the time they graduate.
Fill out the self-declaration section to be considered for jobs open to members of visible minorities, Indigenous Peoples, persons with a disability or women.
For some federal public service jobs, only applicants who self-declare as members of one of the 4 employment equity groups above may be considered. To be considered for these jobs, if you belong to at least one of these groups, you’ll need to self-declare when you apply.
By self-declaring, you may also become eligible to participate in the Indigenous Student Employment Opportunity and/or the Employment Opportunity for Students with Disabilities, tailored programs that feature an onboarding process, training, activities, mentorship, and support services for students belonging to these groups.

Preference
Preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
What happens after you submit your application?
➢ Your application is placed in our student inventory.
➢ When there are job openings, a search will be conducted in the student inventory. If your application matches the manager’s search criteria, you may be contacted* for a test and/or interview.
➢ Security clearance will be conducted and student status verified prior to the job offer.
*Due to high volumes of applications and to ensure a fair selection process, a random selection of applicants meeting all criteria for a job may be used, therefore not all students who submit an application will be contacted.
