Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Transmission Line Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive surveys of transmission lines and related infrastructures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and optimize network performance. This role involves collaboration with engineers and project managers to support the development and maintenance of transmission systems.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct field surveys to assess the physical condition and alignment of transmission lines, poles, towers, and associated infrastructure. Collect, analyze, and interpret geographical and topographical data using specialized surveying equipment and software.
Develop and maintain accurate maps, sketches, and reports documenting survey results and findings.Provide technical support for the design and planning of transmission line projects.
Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to identify optimal routing and address any potential conflicts or issues. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards, throughout the surveying process.
Communicate effectively with team members and external partners to facilitate project goals and timelines.Assist in the preparation of project proposals and budgets related to surveying activities.
Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.Participate in safety training and uphold all safety protocols on job sites.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field. 3 – 5 years work experience.Proven experience as a surveyor, specifically in utility transmission line surveying preferred.
Proficiency in using surveying equipment, such as total stations, GPS, and GIS software. Strong knowledge of surveying techniques, land development principles, and regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. Effective communication and collaboration skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical labor as necessary.Relevant certifications (e.g., Professional Surveyor license) are a plus.
